Xavi Simons hints he might leave Leipzig in summer

Dutch national team midfielder Xavi Simons has commented on rumors about a potential departure from RB Leipzig amid growing interest from top English Premier League clubs.

Despite officially joining Leipzig only in January after a year and a half on loan from PSG, he might change clubs again this summer. His transfer is valued at approximately £60 million.

Among the clubs interested in Simons are Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool, who have long been monitoring the progress of the 21-year-old midfielder.

In an interview with Sky Sports Germany, Simons stated that he has already discussed his plans with Leipzig’s management, but did not fully reveal specifics about his future. He noted that he is currently focused on finishing the season and international matches, after which a decision on the next step will be made.

Simons has been in the spotlight from an early age—Chelsea was interested in him while he was still at Barcelona’s academy, and by the age of 14, he had over a million followers on Instagram. In 2019, he moved to PSG without debuting for Barcelona’s main team and then joined PSV, where he scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists in one season.

His successful performances in the Netherlands and subsequently in the Bundesliga have only confirmed that Simons is ready to play at a high level. The question remains whether he will continue his career in Leipzig or with one of the giants of English football.
