Warren Barton stated that Newcastle doesn’t want to sell Alexander Isak

The legendary Newcastle United defender believes that the club wants to keep Swedish forward Alexander Isak in their squad. He candidly revealed this in an exclusive interview with Dailysports.

Currently, Isak is in third place in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot. The striker has scored 20 goals and provided 6 assists in 28 matches. Insiders claim that Arsenal, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, and Barcelona are set to join the race for the Swede during the summer 2025 transfer window.

“I don’t think they want to sell him,” Barton said. “Whatever conversations I’ve had with the football club and the owners have been there is a plan, and we are building something.

If you do let him go, you’ve got to spend big money to get that sort of quality in. We want to build on what we’ve got.

But in terms of a fee, we are looking at £150 to £200 million.

He’s a special player, and goals are at a premium, so it’s going to have to be close to a world record to sell him, but I don’t see that happening.,” Barton noted.

Let’s recall that Newcastle’s head coach Eddie Howe missed his team’s match against Man United due to health issues. It is possible that he might also miss the game against Crystal Palace, scheduled for this coming Wednesday.
