Victor Boniface Faces Uncertain Future at Bayer Leverkusen

Victor Boniface is no longer guaranteed a place in Xabi Alonso’s plans at Bayer Leverkusen, with growing signs that the Nigerian striker could leave the club this summer.

Boniface had a brilliant start to the 2024/2025 season, building on a strong campaign where he bagged 14 Bundesliga goals. He was leading Leverkusen’s attack with confidence — until injury struck in November 2024, halting his momentum.

Though he returned with 3 goals and 1 assist, his minutes have dropped, and he’s yet to reclaim a regular starting role. During the winter transfer window, Boniface came close to joining Al Nassr, but the deal fell through. Now, Leverkusen is reportedly preparing for life without him.

Still, interest in Boniface remains high. The 25-year-old has 10 goals in 23 appearances this season and is being tracked by Premier League sides, with Al Nassr also expected to return with a new offer this summer.

Unless things change quickly, Boniface could be on his way out of Germany — with England or Saudi Arabia as potential destinations.
