Totti went a step further, suggesting that Roma should make a move for the 20-year-old. “I’d bet on someone like Nico Paz. I like him—he’s original, creative, and mischievous on the pitch,” he said.
Currently playing for Como in Serie A under manager Cesc Fàbregas, Paz has found regular minutes and impressed with his performances. Real Madrid, his formative club, sold him with a buy-back clause set at €8 million, which increases by one million annually. For Totti, it was a smart move: “Real Madrid made the right decision. Sending him to Como to gain experience—especially in the tough environment of Serie A—was the best step. He’ll return to Madrid and become one of the best.”
So far this season, Paz has scored six goals and provided six assists in 29 Serie A appearances. He made his senior debut for Argentina in October against Bolivia and was included in the most recent squad for March’s international break.
