Manchester City targets Tottenham’s creative leader

Manchester City is gearing up for a challenging task — finding a worthy replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, whose contract expires at the end of the current season. While interest in Florian Wirtz from Bayer remains, Pep Guardiola’s club is reportedly shifting its focus to the domestic market.

According to Fichajes, Manchester City is seriously interested in James Maddison and is ready to shell out £60 million for the Tottenham midfielder.

Since joining the London club in the summer of 2023, Maddison has shown inconsistent form but has still managed to achieve solid stats — 11 goals and 9 assists across all competitions this season.

Interestingly, Tottenham itself is not opposed to parting ways with the England international, making the deal quite likely in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Nevertheless, Manchester City is likely to continue considering other options, as replacing De Bruyne is no easy task.
