Luis Enrique secures 14th career trophy as PSG are champions again

Luis Enrique continues to add to his coaching trophy collection. Following PSG’s victory over Angers (1-0) in the 28th round of Ligue 1, the Spanish coach clinched the championship early in the 2024/25 season — marking his second consecutive Ligue 1 title under his leadership.

The winning goal was scored by 19-year-old Desire Doue in the 55th minute from an assist by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

PSG accumulated 74 points and became unreachable for their competitors with six rounds remaining in the season — their closest rival, Monaco, trails by 24 points.

This marks Enrique’s fifth trophy with the Parisians: two championships, two Super Cups, and the Coupe de France. Previously with Barcelona, he won nine titles, including the Champions League and La Liga. The overall count is 14 trophies in his coaching career.

After the match, Luis Enrique did not hide his emotions:

Quote: “I am happy, satisfied, very pleased. I think it’s time to thank all the fans, all the players, the staff, everyone who works at the club. This season has been amazing. We have already become champions and, in my opinion, fully deserved this trophy. There are still records to be broken, and it’s very important to stay motivated to remain competitive in the Champions League and the Coupe de France.”
