Yesterday, Bodø/Glimt sensationally defeated Lazio in a penalty shootout, allowing them to advance to the semi-finals of the Europa League. In doing so, the yellow-blacks rewrote the history of their country.
Details: Bodø/Glimt became the first Norwegian team in history to reach the semi-finals of any European competition.
Previously, the best achievement for Norwegian clubs was the quarter-finals of the Champions League, which Rosenborg reached in the 1996/97 season.
The first match in Norway was won 2-0 by Kjetil Knutsen’s team, and yesterday the teams finished regular time 3-1 in favor of Lazio, with the Norwegians prevailing 3-2 in the penalty shootout.
Reminder: In the Europa League semi-finals, Bodø/Glimt will face Tottenham.
